Welcome to Resolute Comics. This is our first post on the new site. As we grow we hope the catch a lot of the flavor of the old 2008-2020 Mega Comics Group site while introducing a lot of new ideas and sharing things we have learned along the way.
Back in the day we began with daily and eventually weekly updates. The idea of the site was simple… we wanted a place to host the comics we worked on back in the early ’90’s black and white independent market. Legacy Comics, as we dubbed it, came in at the close of the Black & White Independent Boom of the late eighties which was kicked off by the legendary, original Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles in 1984. There was also a couple other companies before that: Dimension Graphics and Valiant Efforts.
Mega Comics posted three comic book titles which was the equivalent of ten, 32 page comic books. We even had some new material first published on the web site. It was sometime just before 2020 the decision was made to go in a new direction. But first there was and unintended four year hiatus.
Now we’re back with a new name, new ideas and a fresh attitude! So we invite you to check back to see our progress and what we have to offer. Thanks!
The Resolute Philosophy
The comic book industry use to be kid friendly. That’s not to say they just did simple minded comics. Far from it. For example: the mainstream comic book publishers of the 60’s and ’70’s published comics which were understood and enjoyed by “…kids of all ages from 1 to 100” as we like to say. That’s what we are about as well. That is to say, those who thrill to inspiring stories of people who find themselves up against overwhelming obstacles but somehow achieve victory. Today our kids need something to give them hope and a means to escape the troubles of this life more than ever, to be refreshed and not give up to despair.
BUT it’s not just the kids. We are doing tales which will appeal to adults too, especially parents. While our material is for a General Audience we still encourage parents to enjoy our books with their kids. Talk to them about the subject matter in the stories and art. We especially want kids of today to have the chance to read adventures that inspire rather than vilify heroic values. Why? We are believers and followers of Jesus Christ, and like our Lord we value life and values which promote life. Our intention in creating these comics is to tell entertaining stories. Jesus told stories called parables. His intention was not to indoctrinate, but to use stories to illustrate parallels so the listener might be enlightened with understanding the truth by comparison. We endeavor to do likewise. So, if after reading our work, you find yourself thinking and feeling more hopeful, well, that’s a good thing… go with it and share it! Thanks.
